Luckily, there are several methods of watching football and other sports via the internet, methods that will reduce the need to pay for the privilege of watching it. Some people swear by watching live streams via uStream and Justin.tv but a far more reliable and useful way of watching is using a P2P client like Sopcast and streaming it live to your TV.
Today, I aim to instruct you how to setup Sopcast to stream via Tversity, thus making it possible to watch live internet sport on your television with no cost to you. This guide takes into account that you are familiar with TVersity, if you aren’t please leave a comment and if enough people request it, I will write a guide for you.
Step One
Firstly, you will need to download the tools we need to setup the live streaming. Use the links to download two pieces of software; VLC Media Player and Sopcast. Install them both.Once VLC is installed, copy the shortcut that it has created on your desktop. Right click on the new shortcut and then click on Properties. Change the target field to this (include the speech marks):
“C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe” -vvv http://127.0.0.1:8902/tv.asf –sout “#std{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,dst=:1234}”
Step Two
The next part is to select which sport channel you wish to stream to your computer. I have found that myP2P.eu is the best site to find live streams, simply select the sport you wish to watch and then choose the relevant match/game. This will launch Sopcast, for now minimise it.Step Three
Open up Tversity and add a new Video URL. In this box, enter mms://127.0.0.1:1234.Open up VLC Media player using your newly created shortcut and minimise this also.
